Anyone for crispy roast salmon and bulgar wheat salad for lunch? Us, please.

If you’re bored of the same old salad from Pret, then we’ve got something perfect for you. Karma Cans, a young entrepreneurial project in London, is a new lunch time delivery service with soul, started by two passionate foodies. The company was started in January by two sisters: Eccie, a chef who previously worked at Petersham Nurseries, and Gini. Every lunch is £8 – think delicious, fresh, seasonal food delivered al desko. If you’re tempted, here’s what you need to know:

You order to the office and the girls deliver fresh and healthy lunches every day. The seasonally-inspired menu changes every day of the week, so you’ll never get bored. Think 8-hour slow cooked duck served in a steamy and sweet Hirata bun with hoisin and 5 spice sauce, or smoked mackerel salad with mint, basil and yogurt dressing. Lunch never looked so exciting.

Have a peek at this week’s menu here. The kitchen is based in Clerkenwell and the girls cycle all around London delivering to offices. The food is as locally and sustainably sourced as possible, with the fish from Billingsgate Market and fruit, vegetables from Leaver Lane. Check it out Facebook here and Twitter here.

Karma Cans: Why Buy One

Each lunch is delivered by bicycle, the packaging is either reusable or compostable, inspired by an indian tiffin tin and the system of tiffin deliveries in Mumbai. Most of the packaging is collected from each office or home and reused, so it’s good for the environment, too.

The sisters also run a successful pop-up in Leytonstone, which is centered around sustainability. At Sustainable Supper, they try to either source all our produce from waste or as locally and sustainably as possible.
