Walthamstow will be brimming with Bavarian beers, bratwurst and big fun with the Blackhorse Beer Mile Oktoberfest on Saturday 1st October. Featuring six top breweries and taprooms in Walthamstow including Big Penny Social, Exale Brewing, Wild Card Brewery, Hackney Brewery, Beerblefish Brewing and Signature Brew.

Big Penny Social

The UK’s biggest beer hall, Big Penny Social (formerly Truman’s Social Club), will be hosting a Bavarian celebration and will be serving up steins of beer alongside traditional German dishes including bratwurst. The epic party atmosphere will run throughout the day with DJs and live music from brass band Das Brass.

Exale Brewing 

Alongside will be Exale Brewing who will have special beers pouring over their 10 taps, alongside slushies, natural wines, cocktails and more. They will also be launching their new kitchen resident Auld hag who will be serving up Scottish scran including the McHag Scottish brunch and an Oktoberfest special the Highland beef “hot dug” with Glasgow-style salsa verde, They also have DJs playing until 2am so bring your dancing shoes!

Wild Card Brewery

Head to Wild Card Brewery – home of the UK’s Brewer of the Year and grab award-winning hazy New England IPA’s, sours and Barrel Aged Beers. Founded in 2012 Wild Card is the Walthamstow original.

Hackney Brewery

Other venues include Hackney Brewery, who is putting on live music amongst the tanks in the Beer Hall followed by DJ’s until late. Their 300 capacity taproom & outdoor yard serves 20 lines of brewery-fresh beers from the UK & US.

Beerblefish Brewing

Beerblefish Brewing, the cask-focused taproom has a dynamic range of beers on cask, keg and bottle not forgetting their hopped gin. The space provides a relaxed atmosphere surrounded by board games, a pool table and Dutch shuffleboard.

Signature Brew

Signature Brew, two-time SIBA Brewery Business of the Year winners, will be serving up their latest and greatest beers including our annual Festbier Luftballon + a number of Oktoberfest-inspire Pilot Radio brews. Alongside will be live music & DJs and beer-inspired small plates that can be enjoyed in the beer garden, roof terrace or the buzzing yard bar.
