Get ready to raise your glasses and toast to one of the most beloved cocktails of all time because National Margarita Day is back, and London is ready to celebrate in style. From free margaritas to bar takeovers, here are seven fantastic ways to indulge in the Margarita Day festivities right here in the capital.

1. For a Collaboration: Silverleaf x Patrón Tequila

What: Silverleaf at Pan Pacific London has launched an exclusive margarita menu sponsored by Patrón Tequila in celebration of National Margarita Day. 

The Lowdown: The special menu, available on the 22nd February, showcases three different iterations of the classic cocktail. From traditional to modern twists, each of the cocktails has been carefully created by Silverleaf’s talented team of mixologists.

2. For a Giveaway: Nightjar x Grand Marnier

What: Grand Marnier has teamed up with the glamorous speakeasy Nightjar to give away 100 free Margs.

The Lowdown: Margarita lovers are invited to visit Nightjar in Carnaby Street or Old Street on National Margarita Day (Thursday 22nd February) to claim a complimentary Grand Margarita (first 100 people on a first come, first served basis), and delight in the seamlessly blended cocktail sensation. Grand Marnier’s take on the classic offers an elevated version of the cocktail due to its unique blend of Cognac and Orange Liqueur, making the Margarita Grand.

3. For a Bar Takeover: The Donovan Bar x Licoreria Limantour x Hanky Panky

What: The Donovan Bar, the acclaimed Mayfair bar located within Brown’s Hotel, has partnered with award-winning Altos Tequila to host two of Mexico City’s renowned bars Licorería Limantour and Hanky Panky for a special takeover in celebration of National Margarita Day (Monday 26th February, 7pm – 10pm).

The Lowdown: Licorería Limantour and Hanky Panky, which were named No.7 and No.22 on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2023 respectively, will be joining the Donovan Bar team for the evening, delivering a taste of Mexico through a special cocktail menu showcasing a range of traditional and contemporary twists on the margarita, all made with the award-winning Altos tequila,

4. For a New Margarita Bar: El Bar de Cavita

What: Celebrate Margarita Day at El Bar de Cavita, the downstairs bar of Mexican restaurant Cavita on Marylebone’s Wigmore Street, for an authentic Mexican Marg. The new bar is a labour of love from Chef Patron of Cavita Adriana, built around all her favourite things: Margaritas, Mezcal and Mexican Street Food.

The Lowdown: Stripping the menu back to basics, El Bar De Cavita serves exceptional Margaritas with a range of flavours to choose from – from the classic Margarita, Tommy’s, Spicy, Hibiscus and Grilled Pineapple and Habanero, or opt for the best-selling Cavita Margarita, the signature margarita with a twist, consisting of Arette Tequila, Koch Mezcal, lime, fresh watermelon and a lime salted rim.

5. For a Cigar and Tequila Event: Mezcalito Chelsea

What: Mezcalito Chelsea is celebrating National Margarita Day with an exclusive Tequila & Cigar Pairing evening by partnering with Davidoff Year of the Dragon cigar and Maestro Dobel Tequila, fusing the spirit of Mexico with the traditions of the Chinese New Year.

The Lowdown: The evening includes a Welcome Dobel Tequila Cocktail, a three-course sharing menu, and Maestro Dobel 50 Cristalino and Maestro Dobel 50 1970 Tequila Tasting Masterclass. Guests will also be given their very own Davidoff Year of the Dragon – 2024 cigar.

6. For a Masterclass: Sabine

What: Explore the diverse world of Agave spirits at Sabine Rooftop Bar’s exclusive “A Trip to Mexico” cocktail masterclasses, taking place every Thursday until 29th February.

The Lowdown: From 2pm join for a 2-hour immersive experience which includes Cazcabel Tequila and The Lost Explorer Mezcal, consisting of tastings, product history and cocktail making as you learn the art of crafting exquisite cocktails from Sabine’s skilled bartenders.

What: Kicking off four weeks of tequila-fuelled tastiness on 22nd February (aka National Margarita Day), Wahaca launches its first-ever Margarita Month, offering the unmistakably Mexican cocktail to guests for just £6.
