Spring is on the horizon, and so are some seriously exciting new restaurants in the capital. We’ve handpicked some of our favourites featuring low-intervention wines, small plates (who doesn’t love to share, eh?), Portuguese dishes and a fancy budget-blowing omakase restaurant.

1. For a Tasting Menu: Luna Omakase

What: Introducing Luna Omakase – a new 12-seat restaurant from the team behind Los Mochis and Juno Omakase. Located on the 9th floor of Los Mochis London City, Luna Omakase will feature a 12-course tasting menu showcasing Sosaku-style Edomae Omakase, a modern interpretation of traditional Edomae sushi.

Eat and Drink: At Luna, the 12-course daily changing tasting menu will highlight the finest seasonal ingredients and sustainable seafood, shaped by Executive Head Chef Leonard Tanyag’s extensive expertise. The experience will begin with a welcome drink, as guests are taken on a journey of flavours, from delicate, mellow bites building to bold, umami-rich dishes over the course of the evening.

Don’t Miss: The drinks pairing. Each course can be expertly paired with sake, wine, or cocktails, culminating in a traditional tea ceremony that brings the experience to a contemplative close.

Spearheaded by Head Chef, Josh Dallaway and Sommelier, Sinead Murdoch, Tasca is a love letter to their travels, inspired by the dining cultures of Portugal and Spain with the food focusing on regionality and produce.

Eat and Drink: Expect fun interpretations of traditional dishes such as Jambon Beurre Gilda, pork and prawn Cachorrinho (Porto’s hotdog) and to finish Bikini (sandwich from Barcelona); here made with Tomme de chevre cheese and Iberico ham between brioche, drizzled with smoked maple syrup and served with salted goats milk ice cream.

Don’t Miss: The wine list. Wines are 80% female-founded and half of the wine list is from Portugal and Spain. Sinead focuses on wine makers using sustainable farming practices, with natural and low intervention wines making a big appearance.
