About Time: You Discovered Friends After Dark at Friends of OursBy Alicia Grimshaw
Friends of Ours has spent 5 years establishing its reputation as a brunch destination in Hoxton/Shoreditch (we know, we’ve been banging on about it for good reason). Now the time has come to stretch into the evening hours, and pair natural wines with innovative plates of food.
The food menu is seasonal and takes its inspiration from global cuisines, while the wine list features some incredible bottles, sourced from artisan winemakers across the world, with orange wines featuring heavily on the list.
Dishes on offer include the likes of Heritage tomato salad with basil and parsley oil; mussels with charred chicory, tamarind cream and fermented chilli; and bavette steak with burnt onion dashi, beetroot mash and root vegetable crisp.
Other dishes up for grabs is the crispy skin whole sea bass with chicken broth and XO sauce; smoked miso cauliflower with mole, coriander, spring onion, radish and pickled chilli; and for dessert, tarte Tatin with Aperol Chantilly.
Please note: it’s walk-ins only, and the evening menu runs Thursday and Friday from 5pm till late.
