April Guide: 6 Brunches to Try in London This MonthBy Alicia Grimshaw
As the sun starts to show its face with slightly less hesitation and beer gardens begin their cautious reawakening, so too does brunch season. This April, the city’s brunch scene is blooming with fresh flavours, from a Peruvian take on the classic Sunday roast (yes, there’s aji amarillo involved) to a bottomless bash that could very well make you cancel your afternoon plans. Hungry yet? Thought so. Let’s dive in.
1. For an Italian Brunch: TOZI Pizzeria & Cicchetti Bar
What: Known for its inventive pizzas and stand-out Italian cocktails, TOZI Pizzeria & Cicchetti Bar is putting a fresh spin on brunch as we know it with an egg-citing (sorry) new pizzetta menu inspired by classic breakfast dishes.
Eat and Drink: All served on TOZI’s signature freshly baked pizza base, the new pizzettas include Eggs alla Royale with smoked salmon, keta caviar and dill; Eggs alla Benedict featuring crispy bacon and parmesan; and the Eggs alla Florentine Tartufo, topped with portobello mushrooms, spinach and black truffle. Prefer sweet over savoury? There’s a Nutella and Banana pizzetta topped with hazelnuts and marshmallows or fluffy pancakes topped with yoghurt and fruit or streaky bacon and maple syrup. Healthier options include granola with coconut or Greek yoghurt and seasonal fruit.

For the main event, or les plats principaux, choose from a prawn-packed Burger de Crevettes, a savoury Galette with rich boudin sausage and sweet potato, or the timeless Croque Madame. End on a sweet note with golden, caramelised Crème Brûlée French toast with berry compote, or a perfectly balanced rhubarb Vacherin with fiery ginger sorbet. Enjoy with chilled Champagne and sweeping views of Tower Bridge. C’est magnifique.
