About Time: You Tried Printmaking at Bombay Bustle with Molly MahonBy Iona Goulder
Bombay Bustle, the much-loved Indian restaurant on Maddox Street, has had a festive makeover – and it’s pretty special. Teaming up with British printmaker Molly Mahon, the restaurant has been transformed into The Winter Carriage. Think vibrant shades of pink and red, bold patterns hand-printed in Rajasthan, and just the right amount of festive sparkle.
On December 11th, Bombay Bustle is hosting a special event where you can spend the morning with Molly Mahon herself, learning the timeless art of block printing. In the Retiring Room, Molly will guide you through creating your very own festive cards and ribbons. By the end, you’ll have some truly unique pieces (and maybe a bit of ink on your hands). Following the class, you’ll be able to tuck into a special lunch at the restaurant.
If crafting isn’t your thing, you can still dive into the festive vibes with Bombay Bustle’s new winter menu, available until the end of December. Culinary Director Surender Mohan has put together a feast, featuring dishes such as: Poppadoms with assorted chutneys, Palak Patta Chaat, and Pineapple Rasam. Choose between tandoor dishes like Zheenga Nisha or Paneer Tikka Sunheri before feasting on the mains of Mughlai Chicken Korma and Lamb Keema Biryani alongside a brussel sprout and carrot poriyal, urlai roast, Bombay Bustle’s signature dabba dal and assorted breads. To round things off, Chef Surender has created a special Anjeer Brownie with a side of vanilla ice cream, topped with hot chocolate sauce.
Molly Mahon’s workshop will take place on the 11th of December, tickets can be purchased here and will be £125 per head
