We’re halfway through the year and the sun has finally decided to show. If you’re looking for a new fitness routine this summer (and beyond), we’ve got you covered with an exciting line-up of new classes in the capital.
1. For Training like a Formula E driver: BXR
The Lowdown: Formula E and BXR have partnered up to create one of the toughest workouts in the UK ahead of the London E-Prix. The new class will focus on strength and conditioning and include exercises tried and tested by Formula E drivers to stay on top of their game. From mobility to delivery, you will be coached through a routine, which is both effective and efficient. The class will open to the public from Monday 8 July – Sunday 14 July,

2. For Hyrox: Third Space
The Lowdown: HYROX is taking over. Suppose you’re looking to try it out? In that case, Third Space (with multiple outposts across London) has started weekly classes which target specific aspects of the HYROX course, including strength, endurance, and cardio, to get you ready for race day. Challenging members with ski-ergs, air bikes, farmer’s carry and wall balls. Expect rounds of EMOM (every minute on the minute) and AMRAP (as many reps as possible) to build strength and stamina.

3. For a Hybrid Class: The Gym Group
The Lowdown: Hybrid 45 offers the best of both worlds in a power-packed 45-minute session. This class seamlessly blends elements of cardio, strength training, and flexibility exercises to provide a well-rounded and efficient workout. Experience a diverse range of movements to elevate your heart rate, build strength, and enhance overall fitness in this dynamic class.

4. For Bouldering: Vaux East
The Lowdown: Bouldering Basics classes are the perfect introduction for newcomers. Climb alongside others discovering the sport for the first time. During Bouldering Basics, a knowledgeable instructor will guide you through the basic techniques and tips of bouldering, including how to warm up properly, and get down from the top of the wall safely. Vaux East provide everything you need to get started. Just wear some comfortable clothing that you won’t mind getting chalky, and join in!

5. For a Leg Workout: GymBox
The Lowdown: GymBox’s full-leg workout boosts stability and knee strength, thanks to targeting hip flexion, extension, abduction, adduction, and rotation.The Monkey Feet exercises in the class are unilateral, performed with a single leg, which is excellent for evening out imbalances in lower body strength and improving the mind-muscle connection.
