Jersey: the easiest holiday decision you’ll ever make. A quick flight from the UK, no faffing with currency exchange, and beaches that could pass for the Côte d’Azur on a good day. But if you’re going to do Jersey, do it right… introducing Longueville Manor, the island’s only five-star hotel, where old-school elegance meets modern indulgence. Here’s what you need to know:

Longueville Manor: The Lowdown

Key features of the hotel include 29 individually styled rooms and suites and an exquisite oak-panelled dining room.  Executive Head Chef Andrew Baird (who, amongst many things, learnt to scuba dive to get the freshest scallops off the Jersey coast) has been at the helm of the kitchen for over 30 years.

The hotel is home to a temperature-controlled 5,000-bottle wine cellar you can practically get lost in, and a spa with all the bells and whistles including a fitness space, a tennis court and a huge outdoor pool complete with sun loungers.

Longueville Manor: Food and Drink

At Longueville Manor, fine dining is done properly and the menu champions ingredients from the hotel’s sprawling on-site kitchen garden. Executive Head Chef Andrew Baird works closely with the manor’s forager David as well as  the island’s local growers, fishermen and suppliers. Chef Andrew keeps it simple: the best local ingredients, treated with respect, and plated with quiet confidence. Jersey’s seafood, rich dairy, and just-picked produce take centre stage. We’re talking about Glazed, slow-cooked free range belly pork with champ, kale, roast apple, fig and ginger; deep-water cod and lightly curried mussel and prawn ragoût; and the deliciously different coconut daquoise with exotic fruit compote, mango cream, passion fruit, banana and lime sorbet.

Longueville Manor: Wellness

Alongside the food (did we mention it’s damn delicious?), the wellness offering at the manor is well-curated. There’s tennis courts, a fitness centre and jogging trails, not to mention the beautiful outdoor pool and recently added boutique spa. Treatments use Gaia’s holistic products alongside locally made Jersey skincare, ensuring everything feels in tune with the island. A bespoke massage? Sorted. A long soak in the outdoor hot tub? Don’t forget your cossie.

Longueville Manor: Out and About

From a tasting at the oyster beds in Grouville to a boat trip to the Ecrehous or a visit to La Hougue Bie (the 10th oldest man-made structure in the world – which predates the Pyramids) – or simply a recommendation for the best spot to watch the sunset, the team at the hotel can arrange exceptional days out to make your Jersey break even more memorable.

Practically a hop, skip, and a jump from the city, Longueville Manor is a rare find: effortlessly elegant, endlessly relaxing, and proof that luxury needn’t mean long-haul.
