About Time: You Went on a Chaya Yoga RetreatBy amelia richards
Chaya Yoga Retreats offer a unique and transformative experience for those looking to deepen their yoga practice and connect with nature. Their next retreat is in Goa and it couldn’t sound better. The 9-day ‘coming home’ retreat takes place from March 3rd-11th.
Expect yoga classes, breathwork, incredible plant-based food and luxurious treatments all in the most gorgeous of settings. Lucy Hill and her team offer an unforgettable experience and a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The Retreat
The goal of this retreat is to reawaken your connection to yourself; allowing nature to envelop, calm, and rejuvenate you, and to help you realign yourself with your highest self.
The retreat offers a chance to temporarily disengage from the “stories” and identities we all inhabit in daily life. It is a chance to be with yourself honestly and compassionately, just as you are, to tenderly pay attention to your heart, to learn, to experience, and to let go of anything you don’t need.
The Location
Your home for the week will be Cabo Serai, a beautiful eco-luxury resort on the stunning South Goa coast. Cabo Serai is perfectly perched on a hillside, surrounded by unspoiled nature, delivering spectacular sea views from every room.
Only reachable by buggy getting there is a mini-adventure in and of itself! Wander through the coconut groves and over a tropical stream and wind up in paradise. The ocean is visible from every one of the luxury tents and suites. Cabo Serai is the most tranquil, inspiring, and healing environment in which to truly unwind and let go.
The Yoga
Lizaan Joubert is a 500 RYT yoga instructor and for the past nine years, she has been sharing her passion for learning with her students online, in person and at retreats all over the world.
After spending six years instructing at London’s leading yoga studios, Liz now lives between Greece, Mexico, and South Africa and teaches a live online programme. She is now collaborating and working on her own personal programmes, workshops, and retreats. During the Coming Home retreat, Liz will teach two classes daily: two hours of deep slow-flow yoga in the morning, and a yin-focused class in the evening.
The Food
Chaya’s Lucy Hill will be bringing her expertise in healthy food to the retreat, offering a nourishing and delicious menu. The menu is designed to support your rejuvenation, and without skimping on flavour! Expect delicious juices, plant-based milks, two plant-forward meals per day, and a free-flow of coconuts, fresh fruits, and herbal teas. All of the food is designed to leave you feeling nourished in every way.
All meals are based on local, seasonal, and organic produce and the resulting Indian-style multi-course menus will not only look and taste great, but will enhance your well-being too.
The Bottom Line
All of this plus relaxing treatments, restorative breathwork, ocean strolls, and more. No matter your age or levels of yogic experience, Chaya’s retreats are open to everyone. So what are you waiting for? Whether you and your bestie are looking for a springtime adventure, or whether you’ve been craving a solo trip abroad and a bit of a reset, consider this is your sign.
