The Kensington Review: The Lowdown
The Kensington is an incredibly slick, sexy hotel in leafy Kensington & Chelsea, the Royal Borough. The hotel is home to 126 rooms and 24 suites, which are all individually decorated, for a really unique, bespoke feel. The hotel is a home away from home, with a timeless, luxury feel, and an inviting vibe that makes you want to stay, all day long.
The Kensington Review: The Rooms
The hotel’s rooms are really what sets it apart from other London hotels. There’s something special about these rooms and suites, their unique design complimented by sumptuous fabrics, deep upholstery and an eclectic mix of contemporary art and sleek furnishings. The modern, trendy design is the perfect balance of old and new alongside the hotel’s classic Victorian townhouse architecture.
There’s a room type to suit every kind of traveller. From the Superior Rooms, which are decorated in warm, opulent tones, with velvet armchairs and cosy chenille throws, to the incredible Studio Suites with four-posted bed. The suites are amazing – picture statement wallpaper, gorgeous four-poster beds and antique style décor. If you want to go all out, there’s The Kensington Suite (rates from £2500, don’t you know), which offers nearly 2,000 square foot of space. Casual.
The Kensington Review: The Food
It’s not only the hotel’s rooms, but also their food, which sets it apart. Whether you’re looking for a classic, British afternoon tea, or a seasonally-focused, delicious dinner, the Kensington Hotel is the place to come. At the Town House restaurant, the menus fresh, seasonal, locally-sourced modern English cuisine with an accent on healthy options – think lots of lovely fresh salads, cheese and lovely sharing plates. And for breakfast, you can enjoy fresh juices made by The Juicery.
If you’re looking for afternoon tea, they have the perfect spaces, with three interconnecting drawing rooms, featuring fireplaces, a hidden whisky bar and a carefully curated library, to create the perfect, cosy winter atmosphere.
The Kensington Review: The Bar
For drinks, they’ve got a surprisingly stylish, cool bar for evening cocktails. Open from 4pm to 11pm, K Bar, with its wood-panelled walls, subtle lighting and smoky blue glass ceiling, provides a cosy ambience and a great menu of fine spirits and cocktails. Come for all the cocktail post-dinner, we say.
The Kensington Review: Our Verdict
