We sipped our way through all of San Diego‘s iced coffee offerings to find you the very best. 1. Best for Vibe: Moniker Coffee Co.
The Lowdown: For great coffee in San Diego, this is the place to be. Moniker Coffee Co. provides fuel towards productivity any time you need it – you’ll see lots of start-up types, working away on Mac computers here. Exclusively served inside Moniker General, the coolest design-store-meets-fashion-outlet in town, their craft coffee brings people together through a community-driven environment.
Order: A cold-brew iced latte, and don’t miss their homemade treats.

2. Best for Creativity: Communal Coffee
The Lowdown: One of my favourite coffee shops in California, Communal Coffee is a cute gift store and florists, as well as a banging coffee spot. It’s more than a cafe; they strive to create a welcoming environment that builds community, encourages creativity and fosters collaboration. They have some wonderfully unusual coffees, including a delicious salted caramel latte, lavender honey latte and iced banana latte. Right on.
Order: An iced rose vanilla latte and the ‘toast flight’ which features Caprese, avocado and Goat’s cheese and honey sourdough toasts. Heaven.

3. Best for a Wake Up: Better Buzz Coffee
The Lowdown: One of the most popular San Diego coffee chains, for good reason, Better Buzz Coffee is a top spot for getting your coffee fix. They do everything from winning mochas to cold-brew coffee, avocado toast to Acai bowls, peanut butter cookies to apricot pecan scones. Their message is simple: don’t just drink more coffee, drink better coffee.
Order: Mint Iced Latte, with espresso, muddled mint, sugar, heavy cream and ice. Sounds wrong, tastes so right.

4. Best for Passion: Coffee & Tea Collective
The Lowdown: It’s all about quality here. Coffee & Tea Collective is a group of people who care about quality coffee and tea; in 2012, they opened their flagship Roastery + Tasting Bar in North Park and in 2015 they took the same passion and drive to East Village where they opened their second tasting bar. Now a local favourite, the coffee shops serve up the best coffee in town. Fact.
Order: It’s all about the blends here. Ask what’s fresh and new in the roastery and order it iced for a taste of heaven.

The Lowdown: Located in San Diego’s beautiful Mission Hills, Heartwork Coffee bar are a family committed to serving high-quality local coffee and baked goods. They try to source locally where possible, and are passionate about giving back to the community. Their coffee is also damn good – and you can’t miss their homemade pop tarts, in a variety of flavours.
Order: An iced latte with almond milk, and try to catch a homemade sticky bun if they have one!
